Disbursement to help pay postponed tuition and fees begins mid-July Financial aid, including scholarships and student loans, is disbursed by Student Account Services beginning mid-July. It is your responsibility to clear holds or activate your summer loan by the deadlines.
All summer financial aid must be disbursed by the last day of summer classes. Once your financial aid is updated based on enrollment changes you will be sent an email to check the updates to your financial aid package, and from there you can log into your student account to view the overall balance to determine if you owe a balance. Summer Session Aid Disbursement Dates Summer Session financial aid is credited to UC San Diego student accounts a few days before the beginning of the summer session you're enrolled in: For Session 1, your student account will be credited beginning about 10 days before the first day of instruction June 19, To avoid potential billing report any additional summer resources to the Financial Aid and Scholarships Office as this could affect your financial aid packaging.
If receiving funding from outside the Financial Aid and Scholarships Office we cannot guarantee that any funds that you are eligible for will arrive in time to pay your fees. As a result, students are responsible for full payment of your session fees by the fee deadline. Please note that programs and amounts are subject to change due to federal, state and university funding limitations, changes in law, policy or university procedure, and updated or corrected information.
Enrollment Change reminders: Students must maintain a minimum of 6 units per summer session or combination of sessions. Any enrollment change, even if you are not completely withdrawing from all summer changes will likely affect the amount of your summer eligibility and may result in repayment of aid received or cancellation of disbursements.
The recalculation of financial aid in the summer is based on several factors, including: withdrawing from the entire summer term dropping one session reducing units within a session dropping one session but adding or keeping another session If receiving Summer financial aid and you decide not to attend, you must file a Withdrawal E-Form. Fee Deadlines For UC San Diego Summer Session students If you owe a remaining balance, you are responsible for paying that amount and should do so by the fee deadline or your Summer Session classes will be canceled.
To determine if you have enough accepted summer financial aid to cover the balance due, compare the following amounts: The accepted financial aid on the financial aid award confirmation; and The balance for the Summer Session on TritonPay. This award refunds directly to students and does not automatically pay outstanding balances. If you are attending multiple sessions, your aid will generally be split into multiple payments Please note that enrollment changes may affect the amount of financial aid received, and enrollment adjustments made after financial aid is disbursed may result in a bill.
What happens once financial aid is disbursed? Once the financial aid is disbursed you may review your student account on TritonPay to determine if there is either: A pending Summer payment due if the accepted financial aid does not cover the full balance ; or No remainder balance due as the accepted financial aid is enough to cover the balance.
